OAKWOOD, Ga. (September 14, 2009) – On Friday, September 11th, employees from Wayne Farms LLC spent the day feeding traveling members of the United States military inside the Jean R. Amos USO Center at Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport. The event was the latest installment in an ongoing relationship between the company, the United Service Organizations (USO) and Operation Chefs Unite.

Douglas, Ga. (July 27, 2009) – On the eve of the plant’s closure, the Wayne Farms Douglas, Ga. further processing facility made one last good will donation to a community that has long been so welcoming to the company. On Saturday, July 11th, the plant held an employee-only yard sale, raising over $6K to benefit the Hope Center, a local organization charged with providing free meals and services to the less fortunate.

Decatur, AL (June 22, 2009) - Volunteers from our Decatur Fresh team recently partnered with the Junior Achievement of North Alabama to help teach local youth the basics of financial literacy in today’s economy. The curriculum included techniques for saving money, earning money, helping families save and the importance of community involvement.

The “HREvolution Awards,” presented annually by the Ameritas Group and The National Provisioner, recognize companies in the meat and poultry food industries for innovation and outstanding performance in managing employee benefit programs that not only meet employee needs and maintain employee satisfaction, but also succeed in attracting quality employees, increasing employee retention and establishing the business/company as an employer of choice. Wayne Farms executives accepted the award on behalf of the company at a special ceremony at the company’s Oakwood, Ga., headquarters in August.

DANVILLE, Ark. (September 10, 2008) – Employees from Wayne Farms LLC’s Danville facility gathered with others from the Arkansas poultry community recently at the Danville Baptist Church to honor Sam Woodruff, hatchery manager at the Danville facility. Woodruff retired on August 15 after more than 16 years as manager of the hatchery.
