DOUGLAS, Ga. (May 21, 2008)—Employees from Wayne Farms LLC’s Douglas facility have something to crow about this spring – the company is currently leading all other Coffee County Relay for Life teams in dollars raised for the American Cancer Society (ACS). To date, the Wayne Farms team has collected $10,613.82 to help the organization research the causes and treatments of cancer and ease the pain and suffering endured by cancer victims and their families.

OAKWOOD, Ga. (May 13, 2008) –Wayne Farms LLC invited members of local law enforcement to the company’s Oakwood facility earlier this month for a tour and a special training session on ammonia, a common chemical found in many household and industrial cleaners and a key ingredient in the production of methamphetamine. Thirteen members of the Oakwood Police Department visited the plant to learn about proper handling of ammonia and health hazards associated with the chemical. Bob Boren, area compliance manger, and Gerald Kowalke, plant manager, led the tour and discussion on ammonia.

DANVILLE, Ark. (May 8, 2008) - Again demonstrating the company's ongoing commitment to higher education, Wayne Farms LLC's Danville facility has awarded college scholarships to twolocal high school seniors-Malisa Mat Sani (Western Yell County High School) and Phang Lee (Plainview High School). Both received a $1,000 scholarship to assist with tuition and other expenses related to the first year of college.

UNION SPRINGS, Ala.(May 6, 2008) - Employees at Wayne Farms LLC's Union Springs facility have dedicated this spring to supporting education in the community. During the months of March and April, more than 15 Wayne Farms employees volunteered to lend a hand to local education by participating in the "Read Across America" program at Union Springs Elementary School and the "Reality Check" simulation at Bullock County High School.

During the company’s first year of participation, employees from all departments donated an assortment of toys and gifts worth an estimated $1,000.

(December 10, 2007) – Wayne Farms LLC’s Decatur facility has wrapped up another year of fundraising for the American Heart Association (AHA) by sponsoring and hosting their annual September golf tournament at Canebrake Golf Club in Athens, Ala. This year’s tournament raised more than $10,000—bringing Wayne Farms’ 2007 total to $11,000.

DOBSON, N.C. (November 30, 2007) – The spirit of giving is alive and well this holiday season at Wayne Farms LLC’s Dobson facility. Over the past few months, Wayne Farms employees and vendors have raised more than $1,000 and collected more than 14,000 (5,167 lbs) food items for the Foothills Food Pantry, which serves families in need throughout Surry County.
