Wayne Farms Danville Names 2008 Scholarship Recipients

DANVILLE, Ark. (May 8, 2008) - Again demonstrating the company's ongoing commitment to higher education, Wayne Farms LLC's Danville facility has awarded college scholarships to twolocal high school seniors-Malisa Mat Sani (Western Yell County High School) and Phang Lee (Plainview High School).  Both received a $1,000 scholarship to assist with tuition and other expenses related to the first year of college.

Wayne Farms scholarships are offered annually to nominated children of Wayne Farms employees and producers who are graduating and planning on attending college.

"These two young ladies have a wonderful university experience to look forward to," said David Elam, Danville complex manager. "We're proud of their desire to pursue a college degree and we want to support them in every way possible."

Malisa is the daughter of Bill and Flora Norman of Havana and plans to attend the University of the Ozarks in the fall. Phang is the daughter of Kou Lee & Kia Young of Plainview and plans to attend Arkansas Tech University.

The Wayne Farms Danville facility consists of a 79,783 square-foot processing plant, 25,658 square-foot feed mill and a 39,280 square-foot hatchery. The facility employs almost 1,000 people from Perry, Pope, Logan, Scott and Yell counties.
