OAKWOOD, Ga. (July 7, 2008) - Tommy Myers, VP Supply Chain for Wayne Farms LLC was recently honored for his service as 2007-2008 Chairman of the Georgia Poultry Federation. The ceremony took place at Brasstown Valley Resort in Young Harris, Georgia where Executive Director Abit Massey presented Myers with a plaque and portrait commemorating his service.

During his tenure with the organization, Myers worked on a host of projects in support of the industry including cooperative efforts with groups such as the Georgia Poultry Laboratory Network, the University of Georgia and Georgia Institute of Technology; continuous activity on the state water plan; and the creation of a Processor Council to assume and expand on the work of the Georgia Poultry Processors Association.

Prior to this position, Myers served as Vice Chairman of the Federation for 2006-2007. He is succeeded by Charlie Westbrook, southeast territory manager for Cobb-Vantress, who will serve as Chairman for 2008-2009.
