WAYNE FARMS LLC AWARDS SCHOLARSHIPS TO LOCAL STUDENTS

Danville, Ark. (June 29, 2009) – Continuing its tradition of supporting higher education, Wayne Farms LLC’s Danville facility recently awarded three scholarships totaling $2,500 to local high school seniors.

Wayne Farms scholarships are offered to nominated children of Wayne Farms employees and producers who are graduating high school and planning to attend college.

The 2009 recipients of the college scholarships were:

• Pang Zong Lee ($500 Scholarship) – Pang Zong Lee is the daughter of Kia Young and recent graduate of Two Rivers School. She plans to attend Arkansas Tech University to pursue a degree in Business Administration.

• Jorge Mendoza ($1,000 Scholarship) – Jorge Mendoza is the son of Jose Mendoza and recent graduate of Danville High School. He plans to attend Arkansas Tech University and major in Engineering.

• Cristina Martinez ($1,000 Scholarship) – Cristina Martinez is the daughter of Rosa Martinez and recent graduate of Danville High School. She plans to attend Arkansas Tech University to study Finance and Accounting.

The Wayne Farms Danville facility consists of a 79,783 square-foot processing plant, 25,658 square-foot feed mill and a 39,280 square-foot hatchery. The facility employs more than 900 people from Perry, Pope and Yell counties.
