WAYNE FARMS RECEIVES AWARD OF APPRECIATION FOR SUPPORTING TROOPS
OAKWOOD, Ga. (February 12, 2010) – Wayne Farms was recently honored with an Award of Appreciation from the Greater Atlanta Chapter of the American Culinary Federation (ACF) for the continued relationship between the company, the United Service Organizations (USO) and Operation Chefs Unite.

Wayne Farms’ began their partnership with the USO in 2007 when Wayne Farms Executive Research Chef Caroline Morris, a member of the Georgia ACF Chapter, learned of a program entitled “Operation Chefs Unite.” The program pairs local chefs with the USO to cook for traveling troops. Since 2007, Wayne Farms has fed troops on 7 different occasions.

“Wayne Farms’ employees seem to have an exceptional sense of patriotic duty evidenced by the fact that we never have trouble finding volunteers to spend their holidays feeding the troops,” said Caroline Morris, Executive Research Chef and Project Leader for Wayne Farms LLC. “This has become one of our favorite causes. We are always ready and willing to step up and express our sincere gratitude and appreciation for the continued efforts of our American soldiers.”

In 2010, Wayne Farms is set to dish food to inbound and outbound troops traveling through Atlanta’s Hartsfield Jackson Airport on July 4th and September 11th.
