UNION SPRINGS, Ala. (July 20, 2011) – Wayne Farms LLC’s Union Springs facility recently recognized Terrance Avery and Antione Glover as 2011 Supervisors of the Year for their outstanding performance in the area of safety compliance and their continued demonstration of leadership toward the WorkSAFE Behavioral Based Safety program. In addition, both supervisors achieved tying scores for the Union Springs Safety Matrix, a measurement tool used to track safety performance.

Larry Parker, Operations Manager, was on hand to present each individual with a plaque and a gift card for their efforts: “Our Union Springs team takes the company’s safety initiative very seriously and remains committed to maintaining an impeccable safety record. This commitment stems from the leadership provided by such individuals as Mr. Avery and Mr. Glover. I am extremely proud of their accomplishment.”

The Union Springs facility consists of an 85,000 square-foot fresh processing facility, 23,476 square-foot feed mill and a 33,949 square-foot hatchery. The facility has been owned and operated by Wayne Farms since 1961.
