Wayne Farms-Dobson Raises Money & Donates Food
DOBSON, N.C. (November 30, 2007) – The spirit of giving is alive and well this holiday season at Wayne Farms LLC’s Dobson facility. Over the past few months, Wayne Farms employees and vendors  have raised more than $1,000 and collected more than 14,000 (5,167 lbs) food items for the Foothills Food Pantry, which serves families in need throughout Surry County. “The generosity of our employees and vendors for this cause was truly overwhelming,” said Karen Hardy, Wayne Farms human resources manager. “The Foothills Food Bank continues to do an outstanding job providing food and support to Surry County families and we’re excited that we can help them help others.” Wayne Farms employees wrapped up their food drive by delivering all donated items and contributed funds to the Pantry just before Thanksgiving. The company also presented a check representing employee donations totaling $1,219.
