Decatur, Ala. (May 21, 2012) – Wayne Farms LLC’s Decatur facilities have wrapped up another successful year of support for the American Cancer Society by raising $60,000 and placing second among the area’s top fundraising spots for 2012. The company’s team, led by Beckie Patrick and Kathy Greenwell, concluded their fundraising efforts at the May 4th Relay for Life event at Ingall’s Harbor in Decatur.
“Employees at our facility have been proudly supporting Relay for Life for more than a decade,” said Don Dubnik, Senior Director of FP Operations at Wayne Farms. “Cancer has touched every person in some way and we are passionate about finding a cure and honoring those that have battled this disease.”
The Relay team at Wayne Farms raised money over the past 12 months by collecting individual donations, holding raffles and bake sales and hosting an annual golf tournament at Burningtree Country Club in April of this year.
