Albertville, Ala. (November 26, 2013) For the third year in a row, the Wayne Farms’ Albertville poultry processing facility held its annual golf tournament, the “Christmas Kids Classic,” benefitting the Marshall County Christmas Coalition.
The Marshall County Christmas Coalition coordinates holiday assistance programs for families in need in Marshall County, and fosters cooperation among government entities, schools, businesses, churches and other community groups.
Overall, the golf tournament had 64 participants and raised $6500 for the Marshall County Christmas Coalition. All proceeds will go towards the Marshall County Christmas Coalition in addition to the sponsorship of 30 local underprivileged children whose families are not able to afford holiday gifts.
“We are so proud to be partnered with the Coalition again this year,” says Cory Early, Wayne Farms Albertville Operations Manager. “We are hopeful that these funds can help to make the holiday season a little brighter for some of our community’s families in need.”
The children will be presented with many of the gifts at a holiday gathering scheduled for December 19th at the Wayne Farms Albertville Plant.
