DAVID M. MALFITANO
CHIEF HUMAN RESOURCE OFFICER
David Malfitano is Chief Human Resource Officer for Wayne Farms, with responsibility over all aspects of human resource management for more than 9,000 employees spanning the corporate headquarters, ten production facilities and their satellites across five southeastern states.
Joining Wayne Farms in 2003, David has been an integral part of the Executive Leadership Team by continuously implement progressive HR initiatives to engage employees as well as overseeing staffing and labor management through a series of strategic growth initiatives, plant acquisitions and regional expansions. His focus on structured performance management and a metrics-driven approach to workforce improvement, combined with an emphasis on innovative hiring, training and skill-development programs, are recognized industry best practices.
Prior to his role with Wayne Farms, David served in leadership positions in several Fortune 500 companies including Monsanto, Frito Lay and EDS. He received a BS in Employment Relations and attended the Labor and Industrial Relations Master’s degree program at Michigan State University.
David sits on the Board of Directors of Health Transformation Alliance. Over the last 12 years David has served as a Board member and held Executive Committee roles including Vice President of Programs and Co-President (3 terms) for the Human Resource Leadership Forum of Atlanta. He previously served as an Advisory Board member for SHRM-Atlanta. David’s mission focus on human capital development springs from his unrelenting emphasis on professional growth and team-building that lead to positive business and personal outcomes.
